This plant is a shrub which grows up to three feet tall.  The leaves are oppositely arranged and the leaf margins are toothed.  The flowers are usually in groups of three. They are five-parted, yellow in color, and shaped like a funnel.  This plant grows in dry soil, often in rocky woods. It blooms from early June until mid-August.
